Elder Michael McCurry has been married to his wife and best friend Dr. Tammie Ross McCurry for over thirty years. He is the proud father of six daughters: Brittney, Alyssa, Jasmine, Takia, Mikala, and Ashley. He is the grandfather of nine: Jeremiah, Justice, Ethan, James III, McKenzie, Maverick, Aiden, Braxton, and Jaison. He is the proud father-in-law to James Daniels Jr., Aundrey Nelson Wingate Jr., and Justin Sears.
Elder McCurry is a graduate of Troy University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management. He also holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Mount Senario College.
Elder McCurry is a highly sought-after and energetic preacher, keynote speaker, and facilitator. He is certified by Life Innovations as a Marriage Enrichment Facilitator. He also holds a certification as a Domestic Violence Education Facilitator. His knowledge of business and professionalism is supported by over 30 years of real-world and leadership experience acquired by working with corporations, behavioral healthcare systems, local government offices, and charitable/non-profit organizations.
Elder McCurry accepted his call to the ministry and preached his first message entitled “God Looks At Your Heart” in August 1996. He is a licensed Elder in the Churches of God in Christ. He and his wife serve as the Pastors of Unity Worship Center located in Montgomery, AL.
Elder McCurry has co-authored two books, Under the Shadow: Our Journey with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Silence. He and his wife are the founders of To Restore Multitudes Ministries (www.trmministries.com), a ministry focused on transforming and restoring marriages and families. They currently host a radio show, The Covenant Corner, on WXVI 1600 AM.
God had spoken to Elder McCurry in 2007 about creating a mentoring group for men. However, at that time, he didn’t feel prepared to launch such a project. So he spent the next few years preparing for the call. In early May 2018, a conversation occurred between Elder McCurry and one of his mentees, Minister Franklin Williams. During the conversation, Minister Williams confirmed this call by sharing a word he had received from God concerning Elder McCurry. Then on May 26, 2018, the time came and Beta Alpha Gamma Christian Fraternity was birthed. Elder proudly serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of this anointed and appointed organization which focuses on promoting productive godly character in men through leadership development, youth-to-adult mentorship programs, and fellowship activities
